Guildford Grammar School stands on the brink of an exciting digital era. As we move towards 2030, we envision a school where technology is seamlessly integrated into every facet of our educational practice, enriching our students' learning experiences, equipping them with future-ready skills, and connecting them to the global community.
In 2025, the School will begin phasing out the current BYOD program and, we are excited to announce, our School Provided Technology Program (SPTP) will commence in 2025. This program marks phase one of equipping our entire student community with the latest iPad Air (13in iPad Air in Years 5,7,9, 11 and an 11in iPad Air in Year 3). Like other similar schools, Guildford Grammar will be introducing an annual Resource Levy as part of its fees structure.
Key information
- The iPad Air will have an internet filter, preventing your child from accessing inappropriate sites while at home or school.
- The device will have Apple Care+ that will dramatically reduce repair costs for parents.
- When a device is broken, a new device will be provided that day with no work lost.
- The Tech Centre can provide full support as the devices will be part of our school fleet.
Today’s classroom practices reveal significant disparities in student devices, which hinder effective teaching and challenge our Tech Team's ability to manage the increasing number of technical issues. Our current IT model is financially unsustainable.
Introducing the iPad into our classrooms is more than just adopting a new technology; it’s a significant step in our journey toward an inspiring, connected, and sustainable future for education at Guildford Grammar School. In providing our students with these advanced tools, we are investing in their ability to adapt, innovate, and thrive in an ever-evolving world.
The iPad aligns seamlessly with our strategic plan. We recognise the critical role that technology plays in our students' education and future careers.
