Unit Introduction
Students develop a global perspective on Australia’s economy in particular the importance of trade and financial integration into the global economy and how this benefits everyday Australians. In addition, students develop data interpretation and analysis skills allowing them to access valuable financial information used in corporate decision making. Students also develop a nuanced understanding of trade, and the costs that are associated with global supply chains. In the second half of the unit, students explicitly develop understanding of their workplace rights, the duties of employers, and how businesses remain competitive. Throughout the unit, investment and financial management skills are developed through the ESSI money game, and MoneySmart resources.
